Intruding Players Ch. 7 (KNB Various x Reader)

The same scene again. The same exact scene played before you and yet your mind could never adjust to it. You stood in a forest, trees towering above you and endless shadows preventing you from looking beyond them. Then a light faintly glowed in the distance and how you dreaded this light as the fire spread and you saw smoke surrounding you as it crept through the trees. 'No! Not again!' You pleaded in your mind as you started running towards the source of the smoke through the thick forest. 'Faster! Run faster! Please!' You begged your legs as they ran over the thin blanket of ashes now covering the floor more and more like snow as you approached the source of smoke. 'This time I will! I'll get there fast enough! Please just this one time!' You begged in your own mind as your legs automatically ran in the desired direction. And then as you ran through, you spotted a lifeless body hanging from one of the branches. You felt your legs weaken and your eyes widened in horror at the corpse hanging from the branch. 'Get a grip! You always see them as you get closer!' You slapped your face and held back tears as you continued running towards the smoke. It seemed endless as more trees and corpses passed your view as you ran past them in the smoke filled forest.

Finally you arrived at a clearing of trees that were damaged. A plane had crashed into the forest and was caught in flames. 'No... I can save her this time!' You desperately thought. You ran towards the wreck of the plane that was slowly being consumed in flames. You climbed on top of one of the damaged wings of the plane and headed towards the emergency exit of the plane. 'Damn! It's locked!' You banged and tugged at the door but it wouldn't budge. You banged on the window that let you see inside the plane and a woman still trapped inside came up to the window, eyes wide with fear and horror as the flames continued to consume the plane. Your eyes widened in shock at seeing her and tears started to pour out of your eyes as you desperately kicked and pulled on the door. 'Open please!' No use. You jumped off the wing and frantically looked around but no one was near you. You tried screaming for help but again the choking feeling prevented you from doing so. You looked back at the plane and the flames had already consumed it, leaving the woman trapped inside. Your eyes watched in horror and all at once your voice came back too late. "MOM!!!"

It was 6:45 am. You woke up screaming with tears flowing down your cheeks. Kuroko ran into the room, startled by your screaming only to find you shivering in fear with your face buried in your knees. He went over next to you and turned on the lamp by your bed. He grabbed your headphones and put them on you and turned on the music at a low volume for you. You raised your head from your knees as the soft music played for you to hear, tears still streaming down from your watery (e/c) eyes. Kuroko wiped the tears gently away and tucked you back in with him now laying beside you on your bed. It was something that he started to do every time you had nightmares and he would hug you as you laid beside him until he saw you go back to sleep with your soothing music still playing to calm you down from your panicked state. You still had yet to tell him what your nightmare always was but it was too painful to explain the terrible memory that plagued your dreams.

You had gone back to sleep but it wasn't long before your alarm came on signaling you it was time to get ready for school. You groaned in annoyance but sat up, exhaustion clear on your face where the nightmare had once again invaded your sleep. Kuroko sat up from where he had stayed with you, his bed hair already present and unnoticed by him. You yawned and stretched out on the bed before swinging your legs off the side of the bed to get off. You got up and left to the bathroom to fix your messy hair and brush your teeth as Kuroko went to feed Number 2 who was already awake and full of energy on his little heap of pillows in the corner of the room where he slept.

Your legs trudged to the bathroom to try to wash the evident sleeplessness from your face. Standing there by the sink absentmindedly, you began to go through what had happened the night before. 'Right. Kise.' You thought as you splashed more water on your face and dried off. You, with the help of Kuroko, explained to Kise about the incident and how he wasn't technically in his own home at the moment. Of course he thought both of you were out of your mind at first but somehow he made sense of it and you talked about it until it was past midnight. You had Kise stay in the guest room that was right next to Kuroko's. Kuroko wasn't too happy about it but didn't complain and you couldn't have noticed due to his expressionless face. 'Why do they take this situation so lightly? If it was me I would have been freaking out.' You thought as you staggered to the kitchen but stopped in your tracks remembering Kise wasn't up yet. You groaned and trudged back towards Kise's room walking like a zombie from how tired you were.

"Kise, wake up already." You nudged his shoulder as he slept soundly. Nothing. He was too deep in his sleep to wake up. 'Why does he have to be a heavy sleeper.' You sighed   and started to pull back his covers so the cold air could wake him up. "Kise! Get up alre—" You were pulled onto the bed and Kise now held you in a tight hug.

"Good morning (Y/n)cchi~" He said as he held you tightly.

"K-Kise, you were awake the whole time?" You felt your cheeks heating up as you struggled from his grip.

"Hmmm... Maybe." You could tell he was smirking even though your back was to him.

"Kise, let go. I have to go make something for breakfast." You tried to break loose but due to your exhaustion it was hopeless.

"Don't wanna. The room is so cold and (Y/n)cchi is so warm~"

"Do I need to call Kuroko to pry you off of me?" You threatened as you turned your head to narrow your eyes at him.

"Fine, fine. You win." He let go still smirking.

You went back to the kitchen only to find that Kuroko had already made breakfast for the three of you. You sat next to him and began to eat.

"(Y/n)-san, are you feeling okay?" Kuroko questioned as he looked at you poking at your food.

"Hm? Yeah I'm fine. Just tired." You rubbed your eyes that were a little dull and tired from lack of sleep. "I'm not hungry. I'll just go get ready for school." You said getting up to put away your dishes.

"(Y/n)-san." You stopped in your tracks and stared at him. You couldn't read his expression so you awaited his response.

"What?" You asked confused.

"Stay home from school today." He said giving you a serious expression but his voice still came out gentle and soft.

"No, really, I'm fine. I can still go." You said although your aching body screamed for you to agree with his proposal.

"(Y/n)-san," he said as he picked up Number 2 and held him in front of him. Both gave you puppy dog eyes pleading you not to go. "Please stay today and rest." You gave up at the sight of their sad eyes they used against you. 'Damn their adorableness!' You bit your lip still debating on if you should really stay home or not but you guessed it wouldn't hurt. Not that you would miss anything important since you already learned what they taught previously on your own. It was pointless to go, really.

"You'll still go to school without me?" You said worried about how the other girls would attack him since you weren't going to be present. Kise entered and sat at the table where you and Kuroko were sitting at. "Took you long enough." You said turning to see him already eating his own breakfast next to you.

"Yeah. I'll go to school because I still need to see about Kise being transferred in." He said with an emotionless face as he looked at Kise. His face softened and took on his comforting smile he always gave you. "Don't worry (Y/n)-san. Those girls won't bother me if that's what you're concerned about. I have no interest in them." A light pink blush formed on your cheeks as you pouted and turned away. Kuroko knew exactly why you were concerned and you heard him laugh a little under his breath at your cute reactions.

"Fine. I'll stay... But only for today," you muttered and got up to go make Kuroko a bento as you would always do for the both of you. You left the room and into the kitchen, leaving Kise and Kuroko at the table.

"Thank you for the food!" Kise said as he finished his breakfast. He got up to take his plate to the kitchen to wash his plates but Kuroko caught his sleeve.

"Kise-kun," he said not turning to face Kise as Kise stopped in his tracks. "I have no other choice but to leave (Y/n)-san in your care for today. She's not going to school today so please look after her."

"Eh? You don't have to make it sound so mean!" Kise said trying to sound hurt. You came back from the kitchen and Kise ran over to hug you, almost knocking you down. "(Y/n)cchi I'm going to stay here and take care of you while Kurokocchi is at school~"
You sighed and handed Kuroko his lunch.

"I knew this was coming. Kuroko you should get going. And Kise, you behave and don't make a mess. Got it?" They both nodded and you took Number 2 in your arms as you saw Kuroko off. You shut the door when he left and you went to the living room to sit on the couch with a Number 2 snuggling on your lap. You yawned and laid down, Number 2 laying comfortably on your stomach. 'A short nap wouldn't hurt.' Your (e/c) eyes couldn't stay open any longer and so you immediately fell asleep from your exhaustion.

Kise walked into the living room. "Hey (Y/n)cchi, is it okay if I—" He finally took notice that you were asleep. Your face looked so innocent and peaceful as you slept soundly with the little pup asleep on your stomach. "So cute..." He mumbled under his breath. A small blush spread across his face as he realized what he just said and quickly covered his mouth. He left to his own guest room wanting to get away before he said or did anything else stupid while you were sound asleep.
